Cattery POPOKILANI, Since 2008 Apr.
During the New Year’s Holiday, I bumped into a wonderful preserved monstera decoration.
The name of the shop is: Preserved Flower Aki.
(The top pic is a sample of ours)
There seems to be a quite number of decorations using monstera, but using the technique of preserved flower, I never saw one before.
Also this simplified style attracted me.
Popokilani means Cat’s Heaven in Hawaiian language.
This naming was done by my husband and was already decided by him when he told me that he would like to become a breeder in 2007 winter.
He is an IT programmer and I do not know why, but he sometimes he advises to use Hawaiian language to name some of the computer programming language he has been involved.
Quite easy to remember and has originality, that is for POPOKILANI was chosen.
Cattery logo and the web site have a Hawaiian taste.
But the cats we are breeding are Maine Coon, which is said that the origin is from State of Maine, US.
Well may be a strange combination...
Anyway design was good, size(16inch x 16inch) was OK and also carving original words can be done seemed to be a perfect condition for me.
Now I have to think where to decorate this...
Some where that our cats can not touch...
And yes, there is another type.
A single leaf type, but we are running our cattery by two of us, so double leaf type is the right one to choose.
Well again thanks to the net surfing, I’m glad finding such a wonderful item,
The words I requested to curve were: Cattery POPOKILANI, Since 2008 Apr.
Still 3 years... or already 3 years!
There is a Japanese saying “Ishi no ue nimo 3nen” (to translate straight it becomes like: “Sitting on the stone for 3 years” and in English: Patience wins the day).
It may be different how you think about the length of 3 years, but still could be some bench mark.
To celebrate our cattery existing for 3 years, this could be a perfect item maybe... might be no wrong?
Isn’t it?
