ラファエル、日曜日に無事に手術を終えて、午後に帰宅しました。 
手術の前の日の夜から絶食、絶飲、断食状態で月曜日の朝を迎えました。

 

Raphael came back safe and sound from the vet on Sunday. 
He was not allowed to eat or drink from the day before his surgery till Sunday. 

 
  
午前8：15（日）：出発

車の移動にめちゃくちゃ弱いラファは、病院に行くためのキャリーに入った時点から 
涎をいっぱいたらしていました。 
これはいつものことなので、被害が大きくならないように車に乗せた時点でタオルを首に巻きました。 
ピンクのタオルを巻いたラファは大きな赤ちゃんのように見えて、何か微笑ましい感じさえしてしまいました。

実は、乗り物に弱いラファにはもう一つ対処するべきことがあったのですが、久しぶりに車に乗せたために 
そのもう一つの癖をすっかり忘れていました。 
病院までの45分の道のりの間、その“癖”は未だ健在だということを思い出させられました。

も一つの“癖”、それは車の中でウンチをしてしまうこと。 
幸い、作品はころころのモノだったので、被害はほとんど無し！ 
ありがたいことです。 
丈夫なお腹に、本当に感謝でした。

余談になりますが、この癖はラファの甥のジェフにも伝授されているようです（笑）

AM8:15(Sun):To the vet.

Raphael who is very bad with 4 wheels (may be 2 or 3 wheels also, but never tried) 
saliva already started to dribble from his mouth when he entered the carry case. 
We rapped a towel around his neck for him not to be in a mess. 
Rapped by pink towel he looked like a big sweet baby.

He also has another custom but it was real a while to have him in the car and we totally forgot his habit. 
During the 45 min. drive, he reminded us about that! That his habit is still there!!!

The another habit is... "stools"! 
Luckily the master piece of his were "chubby" ones so did not create a mess. 
Thanks to his healthy stomach!

In this connection I though of Jeffery, Raphael's nephew, having the same habit.
I don't know how Rapha past this habit, but Jeff surrey received this

午前9：00　病院で診察

病院での事前検査も問題なくクリアし、先生に抱っこされて診察室の奥に連れて行かれました。 
抱っこになったのは、頑固にキャリーに戻ることを拒んだため。 
めったに抵抗姿勢を見せないラファエルがガマンできない数少ないもの、それがキャリーのようです。

AM 9:00 (Sun): At the vet.

He passed the necessary test and was taken to other room for surgery by the vet. 
The only resistance he showed was to go into the carry. 
He usually does not refuse things but carry seems to be the few things he can not stand.

午後3：00　病院にお迎え

予定時間にお迎えに。 
診察室にあらわれたラファは、麻酔の名残りのせいかまだ足元がほんの少しおぼつかない感じでした。 
黒い大きな塊が、多少ふらっと、ゆらゆらと・・・ 
われわれに向かって「うにゃうにゃ」と何事かを話かけてきてくれました。

しっかりと彼を抱きしめ、「お疲れ、家に帰ろうね」と声をかけると、また何事か返事をしてくれました。 
車に乗せるためのキャリーを診察台に置いたら、ふらふらしているくせに果敢に抵抗する姿勢を見せ！ 
もうその時点で、キャリーに入ってもらうことを断念し、代わりに相方が抱っこして車に移動。

二人と一匹、一路家路を目指しました。

家に着いたら、留守番組達から早速匂いチェックの洗礼を浴びそうになったので 
急ぎ二階の和室（通称『男子部室』）に隔離。 
お一人様状態でゆっくりできるはずなのですが、気持ちはまだ“現役男子”のようです。

今朝はやっとご飯を自由に食べさせてもらえ、「女の子はどこだ」と騒いでいる、いつものラファでした。

ラファエル、お帰り、そしてお疲れさまでした。

PM 3:00 (Sun): Way to home sweet home!

We headed for the vet to pick him. 
Rapha who came back in to the a consultation room was bit tottering because of  anesthetic. 
But was clear enough to refuse the carry again. 
He started talking to us. 
I said " Everything is done, let's go home" and again he replied something.

Back to where we belong! 
We headed for our place.

As soon as he entered the house, others came to check him. 
Only being away for half a day, I think others knew something has append on him. 
We took him to upstairs, to the Boy's Room, which he was to use only by himself till Mon. morning.

But he was noisy and screaming... 
" I am starving! I need food! Where are my GIRRRRRRRLS!?"

Welcome back Raphael!
I am really glad you came back and happy to know you are still you!

余談その①： 
先生：（去勢手術で取った睾丸）「見ますか？」 
われわれ：「特段問題がないのなら、見ません」
先生：「問題はありませんでしたよ。　体がこれだけ大きいと、猫でも犬並みの大きさでした」

瞬間ですが、「どの犬の種類と比べてだろう・・・」と素朴な疑問が沸いてしまいましたorz

余談その②： 
キャット・ショーの会場で先輩ブリーダーから聞いた話（かなり大事） 
先輩：「家の猫がオメデタになってね、でも現役のオスはずっと別の部屋にいたのに・・・」 
先輩：「ただ一頭だけ去勢した子が一緒に居て、でも去勢したのは一緒にする一週間ぐらい前でね、産まれてきた子の父猫はやっぱりその去勢した男の子だったの」
　

つまりは、場合によっては精子は去勢後も体内に残っている可能性があるかもという話。 
「自然界の繁殖力の本能の強さ」ということでしょうか。 
これに関しては、いろいろな考え方があるかもしれませんが、用心に越したことはないと思い ラファが各部屋を本当に自由に出入りできるようになるのは、一週間後の予定です。

Memorandum #1:

Vet: "Would you like to see the testicles?" 
us : "If everything was OK, than no thanks" 
Vet:" No worry. Cats like this size, testicles are same size as dogs"

Well I thought "by which breed!" but lost a chance to ask the vet...

  
Memorandum #2: 
A story which I heard from senior breeder at the cat show:

Senior: "One of my girls (of course female cat) became pregnant but I didn't mate any of the boys.  

"They were completely separated so was no chance but...  

 "There were only one neutered guy but he was neutered a week before...

Is this the power of nature?
There must be plenty of opinions about this, but is worth to consider...

So... Raphael will be totally free after a week, totally free from our check!
